E.V.P.

Electronic Voice Phenomena

Electronic voice phenomena is the event of using a recording medium (such as a digital voice recorder), and, upon data review, hearing voices that were not originally heard during the recording session. Phrases can be general or specific answers to questions you may be asking during the "interview". Below is our data for your consideration. All E.V.P data will be collectively posted here as well as on our new case file pages. It is our practice not to alter the original files in any way, shape, or form, except for augmentation to make the phenomena more audible. Enjoy!

Skytop Lodge - Canadensis, PA - July & August Investigations, 2009

Skytop - "Up There" and "Pit"

This EVP was caught in the western-most attic at Skytop Lodge during our preliminary investigation on July 18th of 2009. It seems to be stating "Up there" after I get done asking my question, and even seems to be talking over me a bit. The, towards the end of the file, clearly says something else that sounds like "pit".

Skytop - "I'm Pissed... PISSED!"

This particular sound was captured in the crib closet at Skytop Lodge. This is the area, as the name would imply, that they store the cribs and children's beds for thier younger visitors. It seems to be teeming with activity for some reason. Whatever this was that was answering us, it was *not* happy about something. The EVP is very clear, and could be considered a class "A".

St. John's Cemetery - Bangor, PA - May 29, 2005

St. John's - "Two"

The above file was captured in the mausoleum at St. John's Cemetery, Bangor, PA. The first voice is mine asking, "How many are there?" (This was taken from a segment of questions I was asking.) You can clearly hear the answer, "Two" in the latter part of the file.

St. John's - "Hi!"

The above sound simply appeared soon after I set up the recorder. No questions were prompted before this voice appeared. It was simply within the first three minutes, and simply bid us "Hi!"

Brodheadsville Cemetery - Brodheadsville, PA - May 29, 2005

Brodheadsville - "Yes, my name is Carol"

The above E.V.P. is no more than a whisper, but it can clearly be heard through headphones. I can be heard asking "Can you tell me your name?" in the beginning of the file followed closely behind by a voice stating in a whisper, "Yes, my name is Carol."

Lehighton Cemetery - Lehighton, PA - June 12, 2005

Lehighton - "Can I?"

The above file is something asking a question in response to my ever-popular question, "Can you tell me your name?" It seems as if it's asking in disbelief, "Can I?"

Lehighton - "Walking..."

The above sound is a distant but clear voice. It seems as if it's mimicking me when I state, for my own purpose of not mistaking noises on my recorder that I'm making for something else, "I'm walking through grass right now." A second or so later you can hear a very clear voice, (albeit quiet), state, "walking" in a monotone pitch.

Lehighton - "Now listen to me!"

This E.V.P. definitely sounds a bit malevolent. It's almost as if something is demanding that I listen to them. The statement is as clear as a bell in what seems to be a man's whisper.

Brodheadsville Cemetery - Brodheadsville, PA - July 9, 2005

Brodheadsville - Whistling

The above was definitely not audible during the recording. The voice you *do* hear in the background was on a PA system in the distance and is not E.V.P.

Brodheadsville - "Enatu" - Unintelligible

This E.V.P. is definitely a woman's voice, but I cannot, for the life of me, make out what's being said. It may be a foreign language, it may be too glarbled to hear. If anyone can make this out or has any understanding of this phrase, please e-mail us.

Thank you to our visitors that made an attempt to translate this phrase! Dave B. writes from Virginia stating that, to him, it sounds like "Me too!"

Also, Maria, hailing all the way from Greece, writes this to us;

Hi. I a Maria from Greece. I read your article about Brodheadsville cemetery and I have an answer for your question about "Enatou" a word from your EVP recording. In Greek, my language, it means "of the ninth...."

Again, thank you!

Brodheadsville - "Come on!"

The above one is simply a whisper, but is very clear as to what it says.

Brodheadsville Cemetery - Brodheadsville, PA - October 21, 2005

Brodheadsville - "Holy shit, it's hard!"

The above EVP was captured during Dave's training session. It seemed to be mocking our casual assistant Jess.

The "Coal Miner" Case - Lakewood, PA - April 15, 2006

Lakewood, PA - "There's something of yours in there!"

This was the best bit of data caught during this case. At one point, our no-contact thermometer and our EMF meter were missing. I knew I had just set the items in question in my bag, but, nonetheless, they were gone. The resulting file is, while we're all looking around for these items, something tries to let us know that they had just set them on the workbench, side-by-side, diagonally, but symetrically laid. You'll hear a whisper, "There's something of yours in there!" in the latter part of the file. This particular voice was picked up on three different mediums including the audio on our camcorder recording.

Lakewood, PA - "A Tulpa"

This first file is a bit baffling. It sounds, clear as a bell, as if this spirit is saying "A Tulpa". This is something I had been researching earlier on in the week and had mentioned to the owner of the house as a possibility. Did the spirit read her e-mail as she did and is now mocking us? This is almost what it seems like. You can hear me, John, babbling away about something in the beginning of this file, then you'll hear the EVP around the file's middle.

Lakewood, PA - "Graceful" and Popping noises

This file is a bit longer, but it needed to be to allow all of what's going on to be heard. Liza was using a talking board to channel the entities, and the sliding of the planchette can be heard. It sounds like breath escaping but it's not. What is not noise created by us is the electrical popping noise you hear throughout the file. Plus, at one point as you can hear me, John, calling out letters, something states the word "graceful".

Lakewood, PA - "Moaning"

I, John, have gastro-intestinal problems. My stomach was rumbling something fierce during the investigation. Just ask my collegues! My point? This file is not my stomach rumbling. Chiryl is trying to get a rise out of the present entity(s) and she ends up getting a moan as a response.

Lakewood, PA - "Beast... Creeper"

This is a strange little file that was picked up during the channeling. It appears as if something simply states "beast", and then, a few seconds later says, "creeper". Odd.

Lakewood, PA - "Ehhhhhh, yea."

Chiryl was asking the local entities, "Are you listening to us now?" Her response is a sort of half-hearted "Ehhhhh, yea..."

Lakewood, PA - "Oh! And..."

This was another file picked up during Liza's channeling. It appears to say "Oh!", then you hear Jess say something in the background, then again you'll hear the entity say the word "and".

Lakewood, PA - "Take picture!"

This is very clear, but you have to listen. The words are actually stated twice, but the second time they are more audible.

Lakewood, PA - "Take that!"

Again, this is very clear, but you have to really listen. It could be classified as a "Class B". The EVP follows the completion of my sentance, "...know what's going on."

Lakewood, PA - "Noise" and squeaking

This entity is actually talking over top of Jess and myself. It sounds like it's saying the word "noise". Later in the file you can hear a squeak.

Lakewood, PA - "Who!?" and popping

This is one you'll hear right in the beginning of the file stating, very matter-of-factly, "Who?!" Then, at the end of the file there is a loud electrical popping again.

Lakewood, PA - "Yea"

I left my original "yea" in the file so you could get an idea as to what was going on. It seems as if one of the entities is mocking me, or trying to join in the conversation. You'll hear me say "Yea" in agreement with Jess, then, as she's talking, you can hear a whisper "yea..."

Lakewood, PA - "It's gone" and "Yea"

Again, it seems as if something is mocking me. We're all simply sitting there talking about talk boards for channeling and as soon as I say "it's gone", something mocks me and repeats the phrase. Then, later you can hear it whisper "yea" again.

Lakewood, PA - "Hi"

Actually, you'll find self-aware entities doing this quite often. Someone is simply saying "hi!" to us.

Lakewood, PA - "I'm... so.... hot..."

This phrase can be heard being spoken directly into the recorder as you can hear all of us in the background simply preparing. It leaves emphatic spaces between it's words. This is strange actually, because we all, at certain times, felt as if there was a band of heat circulating our heads.

Lakewood, PA - "Look..."

This is a whisper that sounds like it's telling us to look at something. After it states this, you can hear Jess telling me that our camcorder tried to focus on something that wasn't visually apparent.
