Moonshine Church & Cemetery at Green PointIndiantown Gap, PA - Lebanon County 03-05-05
![]() First off let me say that we don't usually travel so far to investigate something, but this one definitely intrigued us! The lore of the area seems very rich, and we thought the area might be a spiral of supernatural energy. It seems we were wrong. The legends, however, are stated thus; Driving up the hill(Rt.443) to the church at night(church on the left/cemetery on the right) IF you dare to stop(especially at Halloween) around midnight chances your car will shut offWeird noises can be heard around the whole area. Among various paranormal phenomena, the most commonly reported is that of car engines cutting out when being driven past the cemetery. Also it's said that a girl went into the church and said The Lord's Prayer backwards and was struck dead by lightening. Also in and around the same area(Indiantown Gap),it's said that The "Headless Horseman" rides through the valley looking for a new head. Many in the area where brought up to believe the Moonshine Church and the entire wooded area of Indiantown Gap was haunted by what is known as THE RED DEVIL! The above excerpt was taken directly from The Shadowlands Haunted Places - PA listing. The headless horseman item wasn't really the eye-catcher moreover than the electrical disturbances and this whole "red devil" thing. Unfortunately we didn't capture so much as an orb on film. We recorded 35 minutes of analog audio and didn't have so much as a whisper. Let me state, here-and-now, that this has to be one of the nicest, quaint, and generally close-knit areas in PA. The people were very friendly and helpful, (as I was asking for directions), and it really impressed us. Either way you look at it, it was a beautiful day trip. This can really go to show you; you can have an extreme anomoly literally right in your backyard, but then you travel 100 miles just to find nothing. Take note, junior ghost hunters! Distance doesn't always yield results!
