07-09-05 - Second Investigation

Wanting to return to this site for more research, this was a much anticipated session. It was fabulous! It would have been better had there not been a tractor-pull happening about a mile away, but the photos this time were incredible. The EVP probably would have been better hadn't there been so many extemporaneous noises in the background. I'm finding that working with digital recording devices may be a hindrance moreover than technological advancement. You've heard the old phrase, "If it ain't broke, don't fix it..." This may apply to analog versus digital. I digress.

We arrived at our destination around 7:30pm awaiting the sunset. We obtained wonderful pictures this time! However, the EVP was tainted "evidence" considering that there were engines revving and all kinds of noise being picked up in the background from the previously-mentioned event. There was also an announcer on a PA system going that made listening for EVP darn close to impossible during playback. I did, however, locate three instances of class "C" EVP, but nothing amazing.

Around 8:15pm, after walking around the place twice or so looking for the name "Carol" on any of the grave-stones, (which we found... see our previous case file on this location for reasoning), we decided to sit and let the darkness envelope us. Investigation can be exciting at times, but usually it's a waiting game. That's when I noticed the camera batteries showing up as low. I walked back to the car to get replacements as Liza continued with the EVP interviewing. On the way back, at one point, I got a strong reading on my EMF meter. I stopped and opened my camera to take a couple shots. This is when I noticed I could see my breath. Things got exceedingly cold around me for a few seconds. I snapped one or two more photos and visually yielded nothing of large consequence, so I sat back down with Liza. I might mention that it was still twilight at this point.

The sun finally started setting to the point that I was satisfied with the darkness for photos. (Anomalies understandably show up better at night on film.) I might mention at this stage that, after replacing the batteries earlier, my camera was totally drained of power once again about five photos after I started. At that time the digital recorder started showing drained batteries as well. This can happen when there is an anomaly close by. It has been reported that electric disturbance and batteries being drained is quite common. So, after replacing the batteries once more, I set out around the place again to snap some pictures. Below are some of the highlights from the photo-session...

The picture below especially showed up a strange anomaly being that this was most *definitely* not visible during the shoot, (it was pitch dark by this point), and, upon further close-up inspection, shows what appears to be a face with an orb emanating from its' mouth peering up at me from over top of a grave stone. This picture was actually taken by Liza during a flash-reading on the EMF meter. One might argue the point, (which I considered myself), that it might be the back of another grave stone. I checked in previous daylight pictures, and there is *nothing* back there. Very strange indeed.

...and the close-up...

The EVP was less-than-suitable, although, as mentioned above, three discernable class "C" examples were captured. They are highlighted below as well as our E.V.P. section of our site;

Brodheadsville - 07-09-05 - Whisting

The above was definitely not audible during the recording. The voice you *do* hear in the background was on a PA system in the distance and is not E.V.P.

Brodheadsville - 07-09-05 - "Enatu" - Unintelligible

This E.V.P. is definitely a woman's voice, but I cannot, for the life of me, make out what's being said. It may be a foreign language, it may be to glarbled to hear. If anyone can make this out or has any understanding of this phrase, please e-mail us.

Brodheadsville - 07-09-05 - "Come On!"

The above is no more than a whisper, but can clearly be heard with the audio up to a maximum.

We finally left around 10pm after 2-and-a-half hours. It was definitely a memorable experience for the investigator in us!

The Verdict?

In my opinion? Haunted, case closed. All the signs point to paranormal activity. The battery drain, the flashes on the EMF meter, the cold spots, the images, and the previous and current EVP. That's not to mention the fact that, as investigators, (and other investigators reading this will know precisely what I mean), you simply get a feeling when you enter a spot that has activity. It's more than a "wishful thinking" thing, it's a gut-feeling. I had that here. I may go back on a quiet day to try EVP again, but as far as junior ghost hunters go, if you're looking for a place to obtain results, this is it. The wife and I both agreed that it was like shooting fish in a barrel.
